Immigration Update: USCIS Christmas in July for H-1B Lottery Entrants

On July 27, 2023, USCIS announced it has reopened the H-1B lottery for a second round of selecting H-1B winners for Fiscal Year 2024, beginning October 1, 2023.

USCIS did not share how many selections it was making or whether the selections would be made from the master’s degree or bachelor’s degree cap.  Attorneys report that they have received notification of Round Two H-1B selections.  If our clients are selected in Round Two, we will notify you immediately. Notification of selection is made through our USCIS online account and it is checked several times a day.  There will be a filing deadline for the new H-1B selections and the petitions must be filed by the deadline and have a start date of no earlier than October 1, 2023.
