WCS Attorney Mary Alice Smolarek to Participate in the 2014 Law Day for Seniors
Senior Legal Services, a joint program of the Bar Association of Baltimore City and Baltimore Bar Foundation, will host the Law Day for Seniors this spring. Law Day for Seniors will take place all day on Saturday, April 12th, 2014 at the Borgerding District Court Building located at 5800 Wabash Avenue in Baltimore.
Mary Alice Smolarek, a Senior Partner in our Estate and Trusts practice group will again help lead this community outreach day this year. She will be providing Power of Attorney forms and consultations, and be participating in a question and answer session with other estate planning attorneys.
This year’s Law Day theme will be “Elder Abuse and Neglect Prevention.” Law Day is a great opportunity for seniors and caregivers to learn more about how to help the needs of the elderly. Speakers from the State’s Attorney’s Office for Baltimore City, House of Ruth, and Adult Protective Services will present sessions on how to prevent economic, emotional, and physical abuse and neglect of seniors. Seniors will also have the opportunity to obtain a “benefits checkup” from the Baltimore City Health Department’s Office of Aging and Care Services.
