Meighan G. Burton has been named as one of the 40 VIP’s on the Maryland Daily Record‘s Very Important Professionals Successful Before the Age of 40 List for 2014.
The Daily Record VIP List recognizes leaders in Maryland business based on their professional accomplishments, a commitment to inspiring change in their community, and their tremendous accomplishments achieved before or by the age of 40.
The Daily Record’s VIP List will appear in August in print and online. The VIPs are selected by a panel of judges comprised of business and legal professionals and a representative from The Daily Record. The winners were based on contributions to their community, to their professions, and their commitment to encouraging change and growth. Ms. Burton is among 43 inspiring Marylanders that were selected from 129 nominations.
Ms. Burton joined Wright, Constable & Skeen as an associate attorney in 2005 after receiving her law degree with honors from the University of Maryland School of Law. Ms. Burton is a member of the firms well decorated Maritime Law Group that has been a staple of the Baltimore legal community for the past century. Her practice primarily consists of civil litigation in the areas of maritime and transportation, as well as insurance defense, personal injury, and commercial disputes. Ms. Burton has successfully navigated clients through legal matters in each of Maryland’s state courts, as well as federal court in Maryland and the District of Columbia.
Not only is Ms. Burton very well-known in the local professional maritime community, she is also very active with a variety of local non-profit organizations and professional organizations such as the Bar Association of Baltimore City and the Maryland State Bar Association. Ms. Burton has been included in the list of Super Lawyers® Rising Stars since 2009 in recognition of her work.
