The weekend of April 5 – 6 literally raced by as WCS attorneys participated in two races: the Back on My Feet Baltimore Half Marathon (BoMF) on Saturday, and the Red Shoe Shuffle 5K “Walk or Run” on Sunday.
Volunteers and race participants for both the BoMF Baltimore Half Marathon and the Red Shoe Shuffle had a great weekend representing the firm in the community.
The first race WCS participated in was the BoMF Half Marathon on Saturday. Bob Hesselbacher placed first in his age group on Saturday’s first run. Team “WCS” ran the race in a relay and finished in a respectable 2 hours and 10 minutes!
Working alongside BoMF volunteers, WCS ran a highly spirited and energized water stand where runners stopped to enjoy refreshing Gatorade, water, and of course, some motivation from the enthusiastic team of cheerleaders. The complimentary Root Beer kegs were visited by all the racers at the finish line. Lots of smiles for an unexpected, sweet, and refreshing treat at the end of a solid run. The idea was so popular, we were asked to bring this idea back to their next race!

The second race WCS participated in was the Red Shoe Shuffle for the Ronald McDonald House of Baltimore on Sunday. Team Sparky proudly brought another plaque back to WCS with Bob Hesselbacher placing first in his division. Less than 24 hours prior, Mr. Hesselbacher also completed the Back on My Feet half marathon. Everyone from Team Sparky finished with great times and had fun. Most importantly, the Red Shoe Shuffle raised a total of $290,000.
