November 2023
Richard Pledger obtained a defense verdict in favor of a surety client after an 8-day jury trial in Virginia.
September 2023
Michael Stover and Cynthia Rodgers-Waire won summary judgement for a surety client in the United States Bankruptcy Court for the District of Maryland in an Adversary Proceeding.
June 2023
Richard Pledger obtained summary judgment in favor of a surety client in a $400,000 case in Virginia.
November 2022
Michael Stover won a defense verdict for a surety client after a 3-day bench trial in the United States District Court for the District of Maryland.
July 2022
Cindy Rodgers-Waire and Marc Campsen won a summary judgement obtaining dismissal of all False Claims Act violation claims against a surety in the District of Columbia federal court. This was a case of first impression nationally with implications across the surety industry.
October 2021
Michael Stover won a judgment on behalf of a surety against three indemnitors in the amount of $1,399,465.58 in the Circuit Court for Frederick County.
August 2021
Following a five-day federal bench trial in June, Cynthia Rodgers-Waire obtained a judgment in favor of the surety on a third-party complaint from a general contractor seeking indemnity from the surety under a subcontractor performance bond.
April 2021
Michael Stover won a judgment on behalf of a surety against two indemnitors in the amount of $275,000 in the Superior Court for the District of Columbia.
