Marie Ignozzi concentrates her practice in complex civil litigation and insurance coverage and defense. As a trial lawyer, Marie litigates cases in all levels of Maryland state and federal courts. She represents individuals and businesses involved in complex matters such as automobile and premises liability, breach of contract, fraud, interference with business relations, defamation, and workplace discrimination, as well as property disputes involving restrictive covenants, trespass and destruction of property. Marie has briefed and argued cases before Maryland appellate courts and obtained successful outcomes for her clients.

When she is not advocating for her clients, Marie is a wellness advocate, fitness enthusiast, Baltimore sports fan, and active supporter of the Maryland Air National Guard where her husband serves as a First Sergeant for the 175th Maintenance Squadron.

REPRESENTATIVE MATTERS
- Obtained summary judgment in a personal injury action where the claimant was seeking $2,000,000 in damages by establishing that the driver of the defendant’s vehicle, who was an employee, did not have authorized use.
- Obtained summary judgment in a lead paint claim by establishing that the claimant did not live in or visit the defendant’s property at any relevant time, and therefore could not have been injured there as a matter of law.
- Successfully defended multiple cases at trial by establishing that the plaintiff did not prove negligence in rear-end car accidents as well as slips and falls.
- Successfully represented homeowners at trial against a real estate developer who sought to build a community of large homes on open, undeveloped land by proving there was a restrictive covenant that prevented development for residential use.
- Successfully defended a national clothing retailer on a premises liability claim by obtaining summary judgment.
- Obtained summary judgment on behalf of a mortgage broker against a former employee who engaged in tortious conduct and was affirmed on appeal by the Court of Special Appeals in a reported opinion. Fox v. Fidelity First Home Mort. Co., 223 Md. App. 492 (2013).
