The most serious snowstorm the area has experienced in several years and undrivable conditions were not enough to deter Lisa from volunteering, as she performed a more literal iteration of the “Red Shoe Shuffle” this morning by traveling on foot to the Ronald McDonald House. It was an impressive display of commitment to the communities we serve in trekking through the conditions despite most of the area being shut down for a State of Emergency.
Ms. Sparks was recently appointed to the Maryland list of Super Lawyers, but laughed off and downplayed suggestions that she had taken the term to a whole new level with her display of superlative effort.
“Just a great pair of snow boots and ski pants that kept me warm on my walk,” said Ms. Sparks. “We had a great turnout of 25 folks with whom to share breakfast. There was plenty of help from the RMH staff and plenty of leftovers for the families who stayed at the hospital last night due to the snow.”
WCS looks forward to volunteering again as a team at the Ronald McDonald House by serving dinner this summer, in kinder conditions.
