In August 2004, Ms. Caplis joined Wright, Constable & Skeen, LLP, where she has developed a busy family law and estates and trusts litigation practice. In the family law context, Ms. Caplis handles a wide range of issues on behalf of her clients including, but not limited to, separation and divorce, custody (including third party custody disputes involving grandparents), child support, alimony, prenuptial and postnuptial agreements, as well as domestic violence and adoptions. Ms. Caplis has also been collaboratively trained to handle family law disputes. Ms. Caplis also regularly handles estates and trusts litigation, which entails caveat proceedings (will contests) and guardianship matters. Further, Ms. Caplis is routinely involved in general civil litigation, where she has had the opportunity to represent clients in state court, federal court, private mediation, as well as the American Arbitration Association.
With the strong encouragement and support of the firm, Ms. Caplis has become very involved with the Young Lawyers’ Division (“YLD”) of the Bar Association of Baltimore City, where she has had the opportunity to chair various committees, such as Continuing Legal Education and Membership. Further, Ms. Caplis also progressed through various positions of the executive council of the YLD, where she ultimately served as the Chair in 2007 – 2008.
